Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 18, 2026Contact: support@sharrek.com
This Privacy Policy describes how Sharrek ("Sharrek", "we", "us") handles personal information collected through the Sharrek mobile application (the "App") and this website. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. What we collect
1.1 Account data
- Name and email address you provide when you create an account or sign in.
- Authentication identifiers from your chosen sign-in method (email/password, Continue with Google, or Sign in with Apple). When you use Google or Apple sign-in, we receive the identity token issued by that provider; we do not see your social account password.
- Account status (active, deactivated, deleted) and basic role information that determines what you can see in the App.
1.2 Profile data
- Profile fields you choose to fill in, such as display name and biographical text.
- Profile photo you upload, if any.
- Verification status of your contact methods (whether your email or phone is verified).
1.3 Contact methods
- Email address, phone number, and WhatsApp number — only if you explicitly add them as contact methods in your profile.
- The visibility setting you choose for each opportunity. By default, contact methods are private and are only shared when you release them, opportunity by opportunity, through the in-app flow.
1.4 Opportunity content
- The opportunities you publish (title, description, taxonomy, location).
- Photos you upload to those opportunities.
- Drafts, archive status, and edit history.
1.5 Interactions
- Opportunities you favorite, interests you express, reports you submit, and blocks you create.
- Records of contact-method exposures between two users.
1.6 Device and diagnostic data
- Push notification token — only if you enable push notifications. The token is used solely to deliver Sharrek notifications to your device.
- Crash diagnostics via Sentry. These reports include information about the error (file, line number, stack trace) and high-level device metadata (operating system, app version). Sentry is configured to scrub authentication headers, contact values, and the fields of profile-update requests before any data leaves your device.
2. How we use your data
- To create and authenticate your account.
- To display your profile and opportunities to other users.
- To deliver opportunity discovery, search, and filtering.
- To deliver contact methods to other users only when you choose to expose them — opportunity by opportunity, or when you release them in response to an expression of interest.
- To deliver in-app and push notifications you opt into.
- To moderate the platform (reports, blocks, suspensions).
- To diagnose crashes and improve reliability.
- To communicate with you about your account, including support replies.
3. How contact-method visibility works
Sharrek treats your contact methods as private by default. You can:
- Add up to one verified value of each type (email, phone, WhatsApp).
- Choose to expose specific verified contact methods on an individual opportunity. Pre-existing opportunities never expose your contact data automatically.
- Release your contact information in response to a specific expression of interest, at a time of your choosing.
- Unverify or remove a contact method at any time. When you remove or unverify a contact method, it is also removed from any opportunity where it was exposed.
4. User-generated content
Opportunities, profile fields, and uploaded photos are user-generated. You are responsible for the legality and accuracy of what you publish. Other users can see content you publish according to its visibility settings.
5. Reporting and blocking
You can report opportunities or accounts that violate our community rules and block individual users so they cannot see your activity in the App. Reports are reviewed by moderators. Blocking is reversible from inside the App.
6. Account deletion
You can permanently delete your account from inside the App at any time (Profile → Manage Account → Delete Account). When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your profile, opportunities, favorites, interests, and contact methods. A deleted account cannot be reactivated. Some records may remain in backups or audit logs for a limited period before being purged, and where law requires their retention.
7. Third-party services
Sharrek uses a small number of service providers strictly to operate the App:
- Expo (and Expo push notifications) — application delivery, push token issuance, and push delivery. Only the push token is shared, and only if you enable notifications.
- Sentry — crash and error reporting. Scrubbed for PII before transmission as described in section 1.6.
- Google Sign-In — identity verification when you choose to sign in with Google. Google may collect data per its own policies.
- Sign in with Apple — identity verification when you choose to sign in with Apple. Apple may collect data per its own policies.
We do not use Sharrek to share your data with advertising or cross-app tracking networks. Sharrek does not collect device advertising identifiers (IDFA / ad-id).
8. Data retention
We retain data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your data on a rolling basis. Backups containing your data are purged according to our backup rotation schedule.
9. Your choices and rights
- You can edit or remove profile information at any time.
- You can unverify or remove contact methods at any time.
- You can disable push notifications at any time from your device settings.
- You can deactivate your account if you want a temporary pause.
- You can delete your account permanently from inside the App.
- You can contact us at support@sharrek.com with questions about your data.
10. Children
Sharrek is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us so we can remove it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves. When we make a material change we update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you inside the App.
